I could have sworn I read that the newest Alli's on the streets have some extra shift solenoid called the G solenoid. What exactly does this do?

Any other updates in this tranny over the '03 year?

No clue but this may be referring to the new overdrive lockout.

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif It is my understasnding the the "G Solinoid" used on the 04 models reduces the internal pressure in the Alli at idle so it does not heat up as fast as the eariler models. Not a transmission guy - just what I have read in the forum. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif

Ah interesting info. Doesn't the Alli run at a fixed pressure?
