: 70,000 mile lbz report card
haulin-rv 04-29-2006, 11:53 AM Well I am within a few hundred of 70,000 miles and last night I was thinking wow I can finally just say no more cel since the 60,000 mile report. But the truck just could not let me do that, AGAIN this morning I got another. This P101 Mass Air Flow, this is getting old. Its been in a couple times and never a problem found, just false codes. Usually they happened towing, this time I was empty.
I have been thinking hard about my next hauler (I want to go back to a sleeper truck), 4500 or 3500 chassis then add the sleeper and a hauler bed, but I am beginning to think maybe I should also look at some other brands (no not Ford). Will GM ever get there heads out of there butt??
hd90rider 04-29-2006, 01:48 PM I am at 41,000 "haulin" and have never had a code yet. Maybe the filter you installed? No changes on my engine, so gotta wonder if it's that filter.
haulin-rv 04-29-2006, 05:57 PM Maybe? Going to go get a stock filter and see. Looking at any other companies yet?? I'm thinking about a change also, maybe cars/freight with a trailer instead of rv's.
Dogface1SG 04-29-2006, 06:03 PM I just rolled 40,000 today. Never have had a CEL. I had that rearend go out at 14,533 and hit a deer at 35,993. Just rolled into a TAC C today HD
Only thing I have changed on the engine is I have an AFE drop in filter. No cold air duct work etc. just a replacement filter.
I need to check mileage. I haven't done it since I put the filter on. I got a 115 gal tank and just transfer. Too easy, and less stopping:ro)
Only bummer is the Powerpup I bought will not work. I have played phone tag with BullyDog for over 6 weeks now.:(
They said they would tell the guy I bought it from to take a return. Being that it was done over the internet I hope he will. If not I will sell it to my bro-in-law.
hd90rider 04-29-2006, 10:36 PM NO , not looking till after the 4th of July. Then maybe if the rates are up I will, but I doubt I will go back to Horizon. Won't work for cheats.
rjm022 04-29-2006, 11:11 PM you're just in time to look at the 4500/5500 dodge cummins offerings- you may not be interested though, since you have slammed dodge pretty good, since getting the d-max..
SnowBandit 04-29-2006, 11:23 PM haulin-rv I had problems with MAF sensor on my truck. No one could figure it out.. Took serveral times to the dealer till they finally track down the problem as a bad sensor... Only would happen towing.

For good reason I'm sure........ Don't miss my two Dodges a bit. Including all the repair bills that accompanied them with lack of customer support. I have found GM to be much better in all areas.

I have no problem with the Cummins, I was just not impressed with the way they handled the problems I had on my 06. I have owned 7 Dodges with a Cummins and may own another, who knows. What I am going to look at is Freightliner, or maybe a used Topkick with a Cat 3126.
Dogface1SG 04-30-2006, 02:55 PM has been having problems with their #5 cylinder.
If I were in the market for a new truck I would start looking for and joining forums to see what has been going on with them.
That is what I did before my duramax purchase. I still say if Ford had not changed from the 7.3 to the 6.0 Powerstroke I would be driving a 2006 Ford right now

The tree huggers ( tighter emissions standards. ) are the reason for that!!
