My nephew brought his 02 for warranty stuff and the mechanic reflashed (my nephew told him not to ) his PCM while he had his Quad program still it it. This really screwed his rig up and the people at Quad don't know what he should do now and won't return his calls...But back to my question, what does this reflash do?? My tranny kicks down when hauling a load if you sneeze, what a joke. The truck is chipped so it's not a power issue. Thanks.....

If they reflashed the TCM, then that should not effect the PCM. The Quad tuner shouldnt be affected if the TCM is flashed. Thats where the TCM flash comes in with the 4-5-4 shift business problem. The flash simply installs any updated calibrations that GM has released.


I know you know, but that is another reason to not take the truck in with programs installed or mods in place. Just better to take them out. A tuner is especially easy to remove. I hope you get it fixed up though.
