I decided to get one ONLY because the paint on the truck is not really the greatest. I had a rock chip after one week of ownership!!
I also think that they look good, but I got mine more for the paint reason than anything. I guess that I think of them more as "protectors", than bug shields. You still get as many bugs on your windshield as you ever would, BUT they're NOT on the front of your hood!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I had a bug deflector on my hood since I bought the truck. Didn't do anything for bugs, but great for preventing chips as others have posted. That being said, I think the truck looks better without it, but needs protection. I'm going to apply an Invinca-Shield soon. Several members at the Diesel Page are very happy with the product. Check it out here:

Can be a little tricky to apply according to others. I would also like to do my rocker panels as they are taking a beating.

I've used them on my last few trucks. Previously I've used the lunds, but this time I tried a new style from Stampede. It sits a little higher than my Lunds did and does deflect bugs from the lower 1/3 of the windshield but once again, these are more for paint/looks these days then anything else.
Biggest reason for switch, one was a recommendation and two I got it local for around $50.

I got one on my truck from the dealer. The oem part fits great (all the holes line up for mounting). No rattle and no snow problems. The squirrles from above get upset because when they bomb my truck with acorns the acorns get stuck in the bug shield. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
