Who has the Cubby hole and who has the Air Bag disable?

Just wondering, because I might just have something that would fit nicely in there.

Thanks in advance.

I believe that is correct.

Trucks with no rear seating have to have the disable switch... Thats because you need to turn off the passenger airbag when seating small children or car seats... Lots of kids killed that way :(

Tundra was the same way.
They assume that you are not going to put the child seat in the back, probably due to the limited depth of the seat not being able to work with the rear-facing carriers for the pre-toddlers.

Regular and extended cabs have the switch.

Crew cabs have the cubby with no way to disable the pass airbag.

I have a crew cab and the cubby (guess that's been established). I have nothing there now and my cell phone doesn't fit there worth a darn (and it always comes flyin' out of there when I hit the juice). Personally, I think all the cubbies on my truck are a poor use of space. Seems as though there isn't one that fits (and holds) the items I have in the truck with me. I'd love to hear your idea. BTW, does anyone have an ash tray in a truck with the center counsol other than that useless loose cup ... I sure miss having a place to throw thrash and I'd "mod in" an ash tray in if I could get factory available parts. Anyway ....

:nopics:

Eager to hear your idea Brayden! ;)

Brayden
05-01-2006, 02:04 PM
It should make a nice place to mount whatever you want.. For those of you that do have the cubby.. If you don't you could probably mount the airbag disable somewhere else, and then install a cubby, and use this box.

What I'm using it for is what will be cool. Stay tuned :D

The front panel will be capable of holding one 2 1/16th gage and 4 microswitches across the top if you'd like.

That's all for now :muahaha:

LTChip
05-01-2006, 02:31 PM

Brayden

It slides right in the cubby hole. Take the plastic mat out of the bottom and slide that right in.

LTChip
05-01-2006, 03:12 PM
I guess I don't get it. It is a cubby box extender that slides into the cubby hole? What is the purpose? Does it stick out? Why would anyone want this?

I can't picture it from your CAD drawing. Where would switches go? What do you mean when you say "it should make a nice place to mount..."?

Brayden
05-01-2006, 03:17 PM
It's a Solid model of the box itself. It fits the contous of the original "cubby hole". There is a plate that mounts to the front largest surface that will hold your gage, switches, etc.

These are the auxilliary features. It was designed with another purpose in mind that I will show you soon.

Bodysurfer

You'll know shortly.. I get you a picture from another angle..

Go outside to your trucks and take a look at how the cubby hole is designed then come back and look at the picture. It will make sense then.

Brayden
05-01-2006, 04:09 PM
Here's apicture as you would see it as you look at the dash. That picture is showing the front panel "MSPaint'd" in.

The blue dot's are switches, forgive the freehand "art".

Hope that helps clear it up.

SleeperTRK

He means converting it from just a useless cubby into a gauge and or switch mount.

Brayden
05-01-2006, 04:47 PM

But, that's not what this was designed for.. Those are just some of the other uses for the box.

Is there any way to disable the pass. air bag? We have a CC and my 10 year old has to sit front middle on trips.
Not on the CC. The assumption is that the child in the rear-facing seat (which is the situation where the airbag is a hazard) will be in the rear seat.

I believe that a 10 y/o in the middle (where there is no airbag) would be as safe as an adult... bruising and perhaps minor burns from the pyro if he contacts the driver or passenger bags, but alive.

Or a broken neck from the whip lash sustaind from not having a head and back support in the middle seat.

I don't like letting people ride in the middle in the front seat, just makes me un easy.

The 2nd switch is what you'll like :muahaha:

The potentiometer controls boost levels on the fly, without setting codes.

There are over 500 lines of source code backing up the logic in this puppy. You shouldn't have any problems with codes ;)

06-06-2006, 10:11 PM
All 20 LED's?

The left side shows you _______ intensity. The upper row of LED's denote the position of the boost control knob. That way at night you can see exactly where the control knob is.

I'm not going to compare to brand X. But the main benefit with this module is that it plays many roles. It not only is a boost controller (one that doesn't set codes) but it has a much better use that it was specifically designed for. I've added even more features that set it apart from the rest.. I'll let them speak for themselves at launch time.

One switch to enable _______ mode. The other to enable another mode. This mode integrates another system to achieve a better overall result.

The centrally located water clear LED illuminates the __________ logo :D

I just have to protect my interests for a bit longer until the trademark goes through. I've got a great name picked out that describes it's exact function and is catchy.

The actual production boxes will be black instead of blue. Which knob do you want on there? Chrome or Black?

The face of the box will most likely be black or a dark color as to blend in with the dash.

Black....but sell an additional spun aluminum one for $19.95 more.

I wish I could get $20.00 for an aluminum knob.. I'll probably just sell them all with black. If you want the aluminum knob I guess I could stock them and sell a few here and there. Don't think it would be worth the effort.
It could be.. We'll see.

Does this thing work on the LBZ?:ro)

What is the cost?-:t

When will it be available and at what rates of production!?:grd:

Brayden
06-08-2006, 09:42 AM
Should be available in production quantity, as many as you want, by the end of June. There will be production run units to touch, feel, use at the Indy DHRA event.

IF we don't have to change the software much for 2006 LLY/LBZ then it will work for 2004.5 and up.

Pricing is 595.00 for the base model, and 695.00 for the V2. Diesel place members will get a discount to be determined.

If your EGT's are high towing you could turn the boost up to decrease EGTs.

Is this boost controller something to use in conjuction with a chip/tuner or best used by itself. I don't want to blow up my motor or turbo on my $50k truck

Brayden
06-15-2006, 11:40 AM
It is a boost controller and can be used on stock or modified trucks. It will only allow about 35 psi of boost peak to be made. Anything beyond this doesn't make any more power. It also allows you to decrease the amount of boost made so that when cruising you can decrease drive pressure and increase your mileage.

I thought I remember reading that the stock turbo isn't expected to live long over 31 psi of boost. Is that true for the LLY/LBZ, and if so is there anyway to limit the device as to not allow overboost for the idiots in the bunch (like me).

Fingers
06-15-2006, 02:01 PM
No gains over 30 PSI. LLY and LBZ turbos are fine clear up to about 40 but it is hard to get them there. Drive pressure is the big problem.

Which BTW....doesn't work. What do you mean? Are you saying Brayden's boost box will throw codes? What reason do you have to make a comment like that? Have you run his box or know someone who does?

Brayden
06-16-2006, 08:48 AM
I hope ;) and think he was agreeing with with me about the code blocker. I think he was stating it doesn't work.

Nobody is running this box as of yet.. There are two trucks that I know will have them in them at indy. You'll be able to check them out.

I figured that I'd allow 35psi just for the folks that want to go over 30.. I can limit it to whatever in the software.

The VNT Map indicator lights depict whether you're in the safe zone or "red" zone in respect to boost levels and added vane position "delta".

ratlover
