Will an '03 or '04 Factory 6 CD Player fit in my 02 replacing the single CD player I have now?

From my conversations with Specmo (a Delco supplier) and from what I found out about these radios while researching for myself ...NO. Sorry. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Unhappy.gif They have to be mated to the truck's VIN to work, and they only work with the models they're designed for. I tried...it was a waste of time.


Another solution would be to find a 6-disk changer for a Denali like this one.....

I think you could mount that pretty much anywhere...or maybe the Denali console mount could be fitted in the Silverado. This kind should plug right into the back of the '02 radio.

Do you think the denali 6 disc changer will fit where my tape player is now? My '02 Silverado is setup with the single disc player on top and the tape player in the lower console.

The changer is about 1/2" - 3/4" wider. I've seen a couple pics of one...the guy had to cut the slot wider...it didn't look all that great.
