Looking at a bypass filter setup and like the Oilguard.
But the oil pan plug looks like a real PITA when it
comes time to changing the oil. I know others have
talked about making an adapter to use with the Fumoto
valve but haven't heard of any being available. Last
night at the parts store I was looking at the Fram
Sure Drain. The part that screws into the oil pan
has threads about 5/16 inch long. I was wondering
if the Oilguard oil pan adapter is big enough to drill
out the adapter and put the Fram Sure Drain plug in.
The Fram Sure Drain valve replaces the oil pan plug and
has a valve that is opened when the hose is screwed in.

I am also thinking about the oilguard option--but I do not want to give up on my Fumoto valve.


I mentioned this to Mike(I think that was his name) at oilguard and he mentioned there is a way to route the bypass oil to the oil filler cap.


I have been busy lately and will follow up with oilguard on this option--but you might want to talk to them about it.

yeah, I read about that, didn't see any pics. Not sure if
it was done by hacking the cap or drilling into the side
of the tube. Then routing the hose all over the place and
trying to get it secured. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Throw Up.gif I was hoping to
find out the demensions of the adapter plug.

Others mentioned making a new adapter to accomodate the
Fumoto valve. By the way, how long are the threads on
the Fumoto valve?
