Looking to get my 2005 LLY updated and I don't really care for my dealer that is 10 miles away. It has had intake popping and it seems to surge under light throttle cruising speed. Would like to get Fuel Filter reminder also.

Looking for members who have had good luck. I would like to stay within 75-100 miles from the Thumb of Michigan. The Bay City/Saginaw area is about 60 miles from me.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi, Welcome...

Does your truck have the wheel mounted controls for the DIC? I think you have to have that for the FF reminder...

CAP's dealer has been pretty good to him. He's in the thumb. Probably a Chevy dealer too, that's what he has.

I'll 2nd everything ttyler said.
I have bought three trucks from Martin Chev and have had really good luck with them. Never looked at it twice when they had to replace 2 injectors, and that was with the 285 MTR's on it and a slight exhaust mod... In fact a couple of the sales guys were trying to talk me into buying a new truck so they could buy mine.

Go see Mark Taylor at Martin Chevrolet in Saginaw, they are on m-46 west side of shields, he will take great care of you they have some really good diesel mechanics, and overall they do a good job.I would highly recommend them, even though I dont own my duramax anymore do to trouble I had with it, I feel my issues were more with GM then Martins.

I would say go and see Bill at Garber Chevrolet, but I might be biased because that is me!! HAHAHA I am an ASM (Service Writer) at Garber, and would love to take care of your truck!! That goes for anyone in the area, pass the word on!! I will be out of the dealership until Monday, but after that I will for sure take good care of you and your truck!! I have some of the best techs in the area to work on the Duramax's!! Phone number is 989-839-9944 ext 1710. Again, I will be back Monday to give you all the help you need!!

I will say Garbers also has a good service department as I have bought many vehicles there too, just Martins is closer to me, but you wont be disapointed with Garbers either, good luck and let us know where you end up taking it and how happy you end up.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm going to take it in to a dealer that is only 20 miles from me. I'll let everyone know what I think when I get back from there. The service gal that wrote up my work order said they only have one diesel mechanic and he has a good amount of service history with the d-max. I think he may own his own d-max also.

If it doesn't work out, I'll go father away to Garber or Martin.

Thanks again.

Cook Gm superstore in Vassar has treated me pretty good as far as my mods go,and doing updates. Not really sure how diesel savvy they are though tobe honest with you. I usually know stuf before they do:rolleyes:. Bill I will keep you in mind next time. I will say though that Garber Nissan is not worth a damn. That is where I bought my wifes car,and they are basicly incompetant.
