I have an LS with chrome wheels - chevy bowtie caps; I want to pick up some aluminum take-offs from an LT. I see aluminum rims on e-bay quite often - some are chevy with caps and some are gmc with caps.

My question is - will my chevy bowtie wheel caps that came with my steel rims fit on the aluminum rims? Can I pick up a set of GMC wheels and use my existing wheel caps (that came with my steel rims)??

thanks,

The caps for steel rims are a different size than the caps for the aluminum rims even though the bolt pattern is the same.

The aluminum center caps are smaller in diameter than the steel ones. If you purchase the wheels on ebay from a store or company chances are real good that they will have both the GMC and Chevy caps that are the right size for the aluminum. That is how I got my aluminum wheel and caps.
