Greetings from Canada !!

I bit the bullet and traded in my 2001 2500 HD 8.1 crew cab longbox.

As you can see in the first picture from last summer which shows my 2500HD...I have a big camper (10.5') a boat (53+ feet in all) to pull and wanted better payload capability, fuel economy, etc. ...

This is my first diesel ...

Only have 500 miles on it so far and am taking care in breaking it in gently.

Loving it so far!

I hope it does the job for me this summer!! The kids I know are looking forward to the DVD player in the back seat.

PS - this is a great forum and am learning a lot on how to look after my new "toy"

Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge / experiences.

Pretty Snazzy ride - looks good. My brother in law just bought the same truck as you only with the 8.1 in it - he loves it towing a 38 ft race car trailer, but he also doesn't pay for the fuel either http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif.

Have fun with 'er eh!

Wish mine would have come with a black lower valance (plastic below the bumper). Is that a Canadian thing only?

BTW: Sweet truck!

Very nice truck. It looks like you've got a cover on the bed. If so, what kind is it?

Like that grill where did you get?

The Grille insert comes from a company called Cloud Rider - here is the link .... http://www.cloud-rider.com/crhome.php

The part number for my 2004 Silverado is # 20-144.

I was tod by the dealer who installed it that it is all stainless steel underneath the black coating.

Cheers .. rudy

I think the whole front bumper is blacked out because the lower portion of the winter front is installed right?

Very nice truck. It looks like you've got a cover on the bed. If so, what kind is it?

It is the GM tonneau cover - 4 piece folding unit with front and rear lockable access - (I belive the part number is GM # 12498598 and sells for about $1100 cdn.)

I chose it because it comes off very easily and will fold away in my garage. The remaining rails on the truck box will not interfere with my camper.

best regards... rudy
