: eagle lifts
rjm022 04-21-2006, 11:57 PM almost done with the work shop. concrete is poured and cured. racks, work benches, etc bought and installed-now the lift. i really wanted a mowhak lift-but the budget is drying up. been looking at the 10,000lb eagle lift. i like it better over bend-pak and rotary lifts because it uses chains instead of a cable. any feedback on the eagle lifts?? thanks.
epb091786 04-22-2006, 12:04 AM I have that lift in my garage, cables run on the floor and I love it! 2 years of abuse by me. Lifts my truck up high enough that I could stand under it. Never had a problem with it.

SD-455 04-22-2006, 07:48 PM Have you checked out the American Lifts on eBay? They keep sending me email with sale prices. I don't know how they rate compared to the other brands.
rjm022 04-22-2006, 09:52 PM alot of companies use cable in their lifts.-to raise your vehicle. i prefer the heavy duty chain! mohawk lifts really make a great lift. in my opinion they are over built. they run alittle over two grand more than an eagle lift- which also uses chains. since i am only a weekend warrior- the eagle lift will suit my needs. if i can't shake the urge- i'll buy an eagle lift by fall. if i can wait to the following fall season-then i can swing a mohawk lift!
AndrewFessler 06-06-2006, 04:29 PM I am in the process of getting ready to build my 30x56x12 shop. I am looking at a two post lift.
Anyone have thoughts on this company?

I like their $1750 2 post 10k lift.
JRKRACE 06-06-2006, 06:08 PM Just out of curiosity, how much height do you need for a lift? My garage is big enough, I'm just wondering what I need for height.

Should be something like a ten foot minimum ceiling height. Door location is also a factor to consider. I installed one in a 20x20 garage with 8 foot ceilings and a sixteen foot (wide) door. Had to cut out portions of the ceiling and placed the horizontal support in the attic, then replaced the drywall. Pull car in, lower door, make sure hood is closed, raise car. Can not raise vehicle to full lift height though. I'm waiting with my fingers crossed to hear about having to replace the door because they forgot the sequence
Hint, hint... dealerships replace these periodically and the "old ones" can be had for a very reasonable price.
moore87 06-06-2006, 08:42 PM we have 2 in our shop. mtp-9a and a mtp-9f. They are good lifts. Used one of them to put my lift parts on and rotate my tires.
dirtyedge 06-08-2006, 11:46 AM I have a atlas v10 lift in my shop purchased from http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/ . The prices are very reasonable and are easy to install.
I only purchased this hoist after it came highly recommended in both quality and price from Eric at Merchant.
The style is very similar to a challenger but for almost $1000 less.
2fast2 06-08-2006, 12:02 PM I have an Autolifters 4 post and I'm very happy with it. I'd highly recommend it BUT they went bankrupt last year. Hmmm. So much for warranty, etc.
My point is: be very careful in your selection and your payment arrangements. The lawsuit I was reading about online, against Autolifters, claims they took in a lot of credit card payments and didn't deliver, nor did they pay their suppliers. That is scary if true, and should be a reminder to be very careful in all big ticket transactions.
Nevertheless, the quality of my lift is excellent IMO, and I doubt I will develop problems with my personal use of that lift.
Good luck.
dantheman 06-19-2006, 09:55 PM Got a Eagle 10k lift at my Dads house. Its nice. Picks up my truck over my head, and im 6'1". About 1.5 yrs old, and we love it. Use it to change oil and rotate tires every time. Also installed over a dozen lift kits on trucks w/it.
