Hi Steve,

I've got an '01 27RKFS fifth wheel. Love it. I'm nearly retired (about 368 days to go) and plan to use it A LOT! I was towing it with an '01 2500HD with the 6.0L engine and just couldn't stand the "screaming". Running around at 4500-5500 rpm seemed to be the norm. Have almost 6k on the D/A. 5k of that towing. I'm a lightweight at around 16k GCW, but that's the way I like it.

From other posts, I take it you're from around the 'Springs there somewhere? We'll be heading up to Ft. Collins in about two weeks to see the grandkids. It will be the first tow with Juice and the Transfer flow tank. Phyllis hates that truck stop I was using there at Fountain. If I top off just south of Raton, probably make it all the way to Ft. Collins.

I've got a 98 33' Mobile Scout RKFS. We have been to about 14 states while traveling around and have never had a problem, although I don't have a diesel....yet!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I bought the gasser because I wasn't putting the miles on my truck that I do now,as its a daily driver now. It wasn't when I bought it, and I figured I could buy lots of gasoline for the difference that I would pay for the diesel engine. Still think I was right! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

We love the truck and trailer.

I saved the spec sheet vin numbers are the same. It had only been used three times. Glad I waited saved much dollars.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

First time we used our '03 SunnyBrook 33FKDS was Mother's Day. Since then she has faithfully followed our Dmax for over 6,000 miles. She came with a few bugs that our dealer remmedied and seems to currently be operating at 100%. We will be spending most of the next three living in her as we make a loop through eastern North and South Carolina. ............. Jim

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifI'll put my 02 cents in. We have a 03 33RS3 Mobile Suites. It is built by Doubletree which was a division of Sunnybrook until a few weeks ago. Looked at loads of 5th wheels before settling on this unit. We love it!!!!!! Just had an auto load/unload & leveling system installed. Takes all the work out of camping, but sure takes care of my baaad back that has had multiple surgeries.

I have an '03 Sunnybrook 30FKS. We traded in a '93 30FK earlier this year which we had owned since new. The new trailer is over the rating for our present tow vehicle and I'm now aiming at a Duramax/Allison...most likely an '05 2500HD crew cab.

I'm learning a lot about the Duramax following this forum. Thanks to all who contribute.Edited by: glilja

I just got an '02 Sunnybrook 33RKFS, with two slideouts. The 6.5 seems to pull it pretty good. Im going to get a plug-in module a company is working on now that will give it another 80HP and 170 lb.-ft. of torque. I will also be pulling another trailer behind that which contains two small tractors, just havent got the hitch on the camper yet.

fishdmax,

We have a 2002 31 BWKS with 3 slides. Just took delivery of a '04 3500. The '01 2500 pulled her fine but I was really pushing the GVW and decided I was more comfortable safer than risk being a lot sorrier at some point.

We go to Utah each summer and fly fish the Green River at the Flaming Gorge. We really enjoy our sunnybrook. The wife really enjoys the rear bay window setup. It has been a flawless rig as was our 26' front kitchen sunnybrook trailer.

Bob ...

Would be interested in hearing your impressions on any differences you experience in towing your rig with a 2500 and 3500.

We have an '01 29dbs. I'm very happy with the quality and floorplan.

Jim,

The 3500 feels a bit more stable but I was never bothered by the 2500. We pulled in some serious cross winds without white knuckles. The big issue for me is I can carry all the stuff I want, load the rig the way I want and not have to shift stuff around to influence king pin weight. I did have airbags on my 2500.

My mileage is off by about 2 mpg (down from 18.6 for 35,000 miles to 16.5 for just under 4000). I do expect it to get a bit better.

I like the longer bed (I had a slider hitch in my 2500 and it worked but was a pain). I like the larger fuel tank though I still added an inbed 43 gal tank as before.

Steve, You have mail.

We have towed our 30RKFS over 20,000 miles and 26 states. Added a washer/dryer and makes traveling much easier. Couldn't be happier with the coach or the TV.

Have a 2001 33' FKS and have enjoyed it greatly.

However, I have only pulled it twice. Once from the lot to my house when I bought it new, and once straight to my deer lease. It's been parked every since; under a large cover I might add.
