My truck is due for regular service and it include replacing the passenger compartment air filter. According to the owner manual, there are two different ways to remove it, depending on what the truck have. One could have access panel, other do not. I checked mine and it does not have the access panel. According to the owner manual, it said that I may want to have the service department do this job instead of myself. My question is, how do you access to the air filter, and how difficult is it?

Also I might consider buying an OEM service manual for myself. Would it be ideal to get a copy or is it just a waste of money? Just curious, would it cover the step by step on how to replace the air filter? Thanks. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

You have to remove the lower heater plastic shroud to access the elements in the 01 trucks .....

The screw in the tranny hump location can be a bear but doable ...

Thanks! It does not look like a difficult job to do as long as I don't remove the screw right above the center hump. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
