I could use a bit of help. While flushing the trans on my 02, I set off the service engine soon light, because I ran it low on trans fluid while flushing, i believe.
Is there a way to reset the idiot light w/o taking the truck in to a shop?

Stop by Autozone, Checker/Shucks/Kragens and use their loan-a-tool scanner.

If all you want to do is reset it, pull the negative battery cable off for 30 seconds and reinstall. If you really have a problem, the code will reappear

I remembr that used to clear a code, but figured these truck were too high tech now. I'll try that first, after getting the ATF back up to proper level.

I just did it yesterday, still works! Take off Neg. cable and be done with it.

After getting the trans filled back up, runs fine. I disconnected the neg cables. Truck went dead, left it for 10-15min, hooked back up. SES light still came on.
Went to Autozone, checked and cleared codes. All good now.
