Are there heat issues with running Quad 215 and Hot Juice stacked in 1/8th mile ? What about the 1/4 mile ? (May take a day or so to get pyro installed)

Yes and Yes. You will be at 1700 degrees plus during the run. You may be even higher with the stock exhaust.

I have the Flomaster muffler, won't that help a little ?

I seen the posts that give EGT readings on the dyno, but I plan to run the stack without NOs or propane, at least on the dragstrip, unless its not advisable. Otherwise I will turn the power down.

EGT's on a dyno will tend to be less then on the road or track due to actual load ...

A free flow exhaust will help but spikes will still be there ....

M Tomac runs that same similiar combo ,I haven't heard him say he lifted yet in the Quarter ...I don't know which Edge you have ....

Maybe your better off not knowing EGT's.... Just kidding ,please don't throw the liability sticker at me ... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

You should aquire gauges and install as all trucks are some what different ...

Greg,

My EGT's are track loadings, not dyno runs. I hit 1800 degrees easily.

i don't look at the EGT gauge as it pegs 1500 for about 10 seconds during a 1/4 mile run

Mac, I sent my year old Hot Juice to JK for the Attitude adjustment, so the EGT will be with that unit.

And, Mtomac's approach is "don't look" at the guage down the strip (You might not like the reading ?). Atleast, I haven't read where ya'll have ruined an engine with EGTs yet. I will try and stay on the 1/8th mile. Gives us 4-wheel drive's an edge. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Also, I think it will be best to install the Attitude completely before I run the Quad in "high gear" with my Juice box.

Just keep in mind that paticular probe is a bit fat (thick) and you may not see some of the temps posted here in this thread ....
