This was the sound I heard today when I got on it going up a hill. Scared me to death, thought I blew a hose or something. Then it sounded like I blew a hole in the exhaust. After I stopped and checked, I saw the Pyro probe had come out. Not the part that is tapped into the manifold but the probe part which goes into the fitting and then gets tightened with the nut. I drove it about two miles with this out. I put it back in and hand tightened it until I got home and it sounded fine.

Question, did I do any damage while driving with this out? Should I put some thread lock on it to keep it tight?

I wouldn't think that thread locker would be needed, I have not ever heard of anybody that has had one rattle out and I have not had any trouble with mine. Are you sure it was tightened all the way?

I don't know. I thought I had it tight to begin with when I installed it back in Sept 2005. I suppose it may not have been tight enough. I would assume that I don't want to make it too tight? Any thoughts on damage while it was out?

if it reads egt's and is working I wouldnt worry ,I wouldnt think any damage could ocur. None to the engine for sure, it dont care that ya had a 1/4 inch exaust leak.
