The fan in the headliner just above my head keeps running all the time. I asked the dealer about it last summer, and they said it was there to cool the electronics in the roof. Last summer it would come on for awhile and go off. Now when it is 40 deg it comes on and stays on. I wouldnt think it needs to come on at that temp, very annoying.
What advise can I give my dealer to fix it. Seeing how I have to educate the dealer every time I take my truck in for repairs.

Learn something new about this truck every day I guess.

nope...dealers wrong ;)

its for the automatic climate control. Its a ambient cabin air temperature sensor to help the auto climate control adjust the temperature according to the temp inside the cabin. Sometimes they can get noisy and the only solution is to replace it.

Thanks Ben, The noise sounds like static in a speaker right by my ear.
Well back to the dealer for somemore BS from them. I wonder how many times I will have to take it back before it gets fixed. Any wagers, I say three times.

Sometimes I think techs just pull answers out of their ***. I'd rather hear "sorry I don't know" then some rediculous BS like that.

I agree...What I like to hear is "Sorry, I don't know, bring it in next Monday Morning after I have read the manual over the weekend and I know the answer".

seriously, I dont know where they come up with this stuff. Electronics in the roof? Are you kidding me? theres 4 friggin wires up there, for the reading lights and dome lights. Oh, and the OnStar mic if you have OnStar. Better keep that cool; It might overheat.

If it overheats do you have to push the onstar button or will they let you know that it is overheating. Maybe they will e-mail you about the problem:D .

That is some ridiculous BS!!
Find a new dealer, fast. I've had good luck with Sullivan in Roseville, hopefully that is not where you were.
