I'm in the process of pulling the motor in my 94 burb. If anyone has good ideas on how to get those top bolts for the transmission to block out, it would be greatly appreciated. Lost all of my religion fighting with them tonight.

A long extension, a swivel, socket, and a big ratchet.

I usually use a 3 foot impact extension with a wobble socket and impact wrench. Sometimes you may have to take the trans mount loose and drop the back end of the trans down a bit to get it on there.

Swivel socket (one with the swivel as part of the socket) works best there on long extension

Remove tranny cross-member, and tilt tranny/engine down.
It will drop a surprisingly long way, providing clear access with a long straight extension. (make sure radiator and fan are off first.)

Thanks guys for the info. I didn't think of dropping the trans down for easier access. Sure sound better than trying to lay on top of the engine.

Just put the mount back on before you take all the bolts out, because the mount will help hold the trans in place when you split them, I also put a floor jack under the trans to hold it.
