It just occured to me for all you guys with 01's looking to get rid of the speed limiter and upgrade your transmissions... that the ATS Co-Pilot includes removing the speed limiter as one of its many functions.

Mackin,

Which is the better way? I've got a 2001 and the only thing I've found is from TTS Powersystems-but I have the Banks Six-Gun already. Any simple solution?

Gotta love going 190+km/h in an 01. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif Wouldn't have it any other way. The funny thing is, i keep lettiing off around 160km/h where it used to stop, old habits are hard to break.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

TTS is a good solution for power and speed limiter on the 01s....however if you already have power with speed limiter still installed and are looking at a tranny upgrade this might be a consideration.

C'mon Mac.....where's your testicular circumference? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif When have you ever backed down from invasive procedures on your truck. Your a "Pioneer" when it comes to this Dmax/Allison stuff!

This just involves cutting and splicing wires on the TCM connecter up by the radiator support. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif

The soldering to the back of the instrument cluster is for the "TCC lock it and rocket" feature in Tow/Haul mode. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

You and I will have to sit down and discuss this further .....If I bring enough alcohol think I can talk you into it? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

Disclaimer: While I do enjoy my ATS Co-Pilot it will not do the following:

Cure baldness
Increase the size of your penis (mine is still embarrasingly small)
Lower your mortgage rate
Make you more attractive to persons of the opposite sex
Cure premature ej*****tion

I can vouch for all of the above with personal experience! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Mac, the 01 and 02 clusters are supposed to be a lot easier to solder to.
