I've been looking at the 2500HD and noticed what looks like the E-brake cable running on the outside of the frame rail. Apart from looking awful when viewing the truck from the side, it doesn't look like the safest way to be mounted.
Has anybody else noticed this and does it bother them?

Every truck I ever owned has been like this Ford dodge and Gm. Why isnt it safe? on the 73-89 it ran between the frame and the gas tank.

The only thing I know of that isn't safe is calling these things "emergency brakes". Hope I never need to actually use it as one.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif

Interesting...well I guess the design is sound.
I've never noticed on Fords before. I'll have to look closer next time I see one.

On my 2003 F350, it was higher up on the frame rail than my new 2500HD. Nerf bars help hide it.
