I have been to three places that I have been able to buy Rotella 5w40 syn and they were all out. never had this happen before. Has anyone else ran into this?

It was pretty tight at the end of the year too. Mobil was in the process of pulling 5w40, and Rotella stocks were low, supposedly because of Katrina damage to the refineries.

I just picked up a jug (5 quarts I think) at Walmart locally about a week ago. They had 5 or 6 on the shelf. Maybe I better go back and get the rest. I use this oil in my bikes as well.

Rotella's 4 quart jugs... Mobil-1 is 5.

For the bikes, the new Mobil-1 15w50 "EP" appears to be the same formula as the old "Redcap" and a lot of guys are running it.
I'm using MX4T right now, but will be going to Amsoil MCF.

I was at Tractor Supply the other day and they had all kinds of it on the shelf. I almost bought them out when I saw the price of $7.46 a gallon. I knew it was too good to be true and noticed that someone had put those gallons of 5W 40 where some of the Rotella 15W 40 jugs were supoosed to be. :mad:
