I have read the answer to both of these questions here somewhere but can't find them.

I put a deep scratch on my tailgate. Waxing didn't even touch it. I would like some advice on the best way to touch it up short of go to the body shop. I have never done this before!

My bed cover has a battery operated interior light. Some people like them but I don"t. I have installed one but I don't really want to hook it up to my parking lights. Once before on my 88 I wired it straight to the battery. I'm not sure if I want to do that on this truck. Any advice will be appreciated

When I had the shell installed on mine. The installer said that he would run a wire to the fuse box. I suggested that he just tap in to the hot (battery) wire for the trailer. He said that’s what he would do. I haven’t crawled under to see exactly what he did, but so far no problems with the shell light or the trailer.
