got a question for y'all as y'all know last janurary i rebuilt my engine everything new and machine work was done even new not rebuilt water pump and t-stat the other day was pulling a trailer weighing around 7-8k when the water temp went way up shut engine down checked water replaced about a gal drove home 2 days later was going on a 150 mile trip got 4 miles from where needed to be the temp went up again can anyone help me with this had truck towed with trailer back to houston and my pocket hurts from tow bill

In an emergency you can turn the heater on wide open. Had to do that in a tunnel one time with stalled traffic.

Time to pull the radiator for service. Overheating can damage a thermostat in extreme cases.

Did you clean between the rad and AC condenser? did your overheat condition happen slowly over long distance( temp gauge slowly climb up)?? if so I'd bet on plugged rad internally or externally

Did you have the AC on?
