I went to the track last night. There had to be at least 300 cars there. I waited in the staging lane for 1.5hrs so I only got one run in before they closed. I need lots of help with traction. In 2wd with no boost start I spun through all of first and most of second netting a whopping 2.60 60' timehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif. I went on to finish with a 15.22 @ 94mph. In all reality with that trap speed I should be a 14.70 or better. I see in some sigs that people are getting 14.70-.80's in 2wd. What are you doing to get there. I don't have the tranny done yet or the tierod sleeves on yet so I am limited to 2wd for now. I have BFGOODRICH 265/75R16 ALL-TERRAIN TA's on the stock wheels, I know they aren't the best for traction. How far down should I air them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In 2wd I launch with a little boost on Mich. LTX and my best 60' is 2.14. with about 45psi. I just think the traction compound of those tires don't connect good with the traction compound on the track. Before I take off. I do a little burnout and the a quick launch to see what my traction is like. I am told that you can launch in 4wd if you keep the boost below 7-8psi. being safe that is. I did a 12psi launch with stock tie's and didn't do any damage but I want do it again. I have the vid. wish I new how to host vids. you can here my tire brake lose. all 3 tire are spinnin. it's funny. Edited by: allstok03Dmax

I went to the track again this morning. I think last night with all the people they weren't spraying the compound and albeit more than one moron drove through the burnout box tracking water up to the line.
This moring I netted a R/T .436
60' 2.221
330 6.128
1/8 9.348
MPH 77.00
1000 12.152
1/4 14.524
MPH 95.21
this was with 2wd 1000rpm launch
could i be faster since i am hitting the speed limiter?
i ran 3 times: 14.70 @ 92.79MPH
14.535 @ 95.48MPH
14.524 @ 95.21MPH

Speaking of traction, has anyone been able to get their front wheels off the ground? One of the guys from the LA dyno day (a friend of mine) did a 25 psi launch in 4wd with his 38" tires, and several witness' said the front tire came off the ground http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif Several miliseconds later the truck slammed down, busted the tie rods, and almost crashed into the car he was racing.
He said he would do it again if we would all pitch in for new tie rods.
