Do any of you guys know if peter has got a clutch for the 6.0L ford yet? I know awhile back early this winter I talked to somone one here and they said he was working on it. Their website doesn't have anything about 6.0L's yet. The only thing I ever got from them awhile back was a feramic single disc that I never installed.

Yes. the SMF/SDC for the 6.0 is now available. Price is $900 plus shipping. The DDC is still in work and will likelly take some months.

How well do you think the 8 Ferramic button (550hp 1100tq rated) would hold for 4-5 sled pulls a year? Would it handle of 4th gear launch? I can only do 3rd right now with a stock clutch. Dual disc is in the works rite?

Sled pulling is got to be pretty tuff on everything. If you expect to do it 4-5 times every year the dual disc FB kit would be the most reliable. If you drive the truck daily the DDC FB will be a bit of a challenge. On the otherhand, if you don't mind replacing the SD FB clutch plate as needed it may be fine for your hobby. It certainly will be better than the stock !!

I'd rather be stroked than rammed, the single disc you mentioned will only launch in whatever gear you can get off the clutch immediately in (probably the same as stock). If you went to a dual the SBC dual FB clutch will take off in 4th if you didn't really have to slip it very far but if you do slip it a bunch with a heavy sled or a tight track it might be the last time on it. SBC dual disc with ferramic buttons don't like being slipped for very long while sledpulling but work very well if you get off the clutch quickly. If you're wanting to win I would wait until they get the dual disc done if you just want to hold more power on the street and keep pulling in 3rd low I'd get the single disc.

See that is the thing. I'm looking for something I can slip so that I can lauch in 4th gear. If your saying a single disc feramic won't take much slip then it won't be worth even trying. Are you saying that the dual disc feramic won't take it either or is that what I need? I know feramic is stronger and has a higher melting point than ceramic but what are all these cummins and 7.3L ford clutches made out of material wise that they can slip if half way down the track launching in 4th gear then let out on it and it locks rite up. Is it metallic only? What is the name for the material?

Sintered iron is the material you are looking for. It can be slipped more than any material I know of and still hook up when you want it to.
