Can anyone tell me if the 05 oem air filter will fit the 06 duramax. I am ordering transmission and oil filters from gmdieseltech.com and the air filter that they are offering fits up to 05 according to the specs given on their site. Thanks

Negative.
'06 is completely different, gigantic round element vs panel that '05 and older used. Made by Donaldson & no one else right now, although I've heard that NAPA/WIX has one in the works.
The oem is approx $65.00:eek: retail. I can't recall the AC number right now...I'm at work. No idea as to what the NAPA will go for.

The '06 air filter is completely different. The '05 will NOT fit.

According to my local dealer these are the part numbers and his price.
GM P/N 15282462 / AC-2947C ($54.50) !?!?!?!?

- He did not have one in stock but said he could order it.

Any wonder why I switched mine out to an AirAid intake? Everyone says they don't think the intake kits do much for performance, but cleanable filters sure do save some money for those of us doing lots of driving!

I'm not paying $65 everytime I have a dirty air filter. To me, $20 is a rip off for paper filters, let alone $65. I paid a little over $200 for the AirAid, and can just clean and gently re-oil it. A $10 recharge kit usually lasts for 3-4 cleanings. After 3/4 normal air filter intervals, it will pay for itself, which will be this year. (24,000+ miles in 3 months already...)
