Does anyone know what the weight of 1 bfg 285/ 75/ 16 A/T load range e or d is???? I want to compare the weight of it to the same size Toyo M/T. The toyo is 68lbs, and i'm guessing the bfg is alot lighter. My mileage has taken a huge dump with the toyos on, and the bfgs never dropped mileage that much on my lb7................so i'm looking at maybe going back to the bfgs to get the mileage back.

IIRC, a BFG AT with 1/3 tread on a stock wheel weighed 68lbs, according to Moss022. That being true, the BFG weighs much less than the Toyo!

I'd be more willing to say it is the RPM causing the low MPG as opposed to the weight.
How long til you do this one up Jeremy?.....lol

When i had the bfg's put on the old truck it dropped a little, but not to a point i'm at now-:t I'm pulling my enclosed with material the past 2 days, probably weighing 5-6000lbs and i'm getting 8.8 mpg -:t -:t I've thought maybe it was the rpm, now that its a 6 speed, so i drove with it locked in 5th and it helped a slight bit, but still brutal. So this leads me to believe its the weight and lug style thats killing the mileage, not the size.
The truck goes under the knife this Friday..............its got 1500 miles on her, time for some fuel and air(A5).......oh and some help in the trans ):h , and maybe some lighter tires if the extra power doesn't help:cool:
