: Favorite 2006 Color for 2500HD or 3500
mullis56 04-05-2006, 12:17 PM I have a recently wrecked 2005, 2500HD Vic Red, and I think I am going to take insurance money and salvage value and get a new truck as I can get GM employee pricing and it will be a wash or a little bit in my favor.
What is everyone's favorite metallic color? I am think Dr. Blue, but I like the Vic Red..... also like the gray's, just want your opinion.....also i think I am going to get a bubble butt so I can haul more and also spread salt in 06-07 snow season.
Let me know your thoughts!!!
hrleyrider 04-05-2006, 12:40 PM Dark blue metallic is my favorite, thats why i bought one of that color.
Tom Turtle 04-05-2006, 02:22 PM Definitely dark blue metallic. I'm not biased of course.
Descartian 04-05-2006, 02:24 PM Its not a metalic, but you cant beat the summit white, you dont realize it is dirty untill you brush up against it.
gearhead 04-05-2006, 03:27 PM lt blue
White.
Metallic-Probably blue.
dozerboy 04-05-2006, 05:34 PM Greystone was what I wanted, but I'm real happy with the white one I got.
gmperfomance03 04-05-2006, 06:07 PM Once you go Black you never go back.....BLACK
GSORK1961 04-05-2006, 06:10 PM I prefer John Deere Green but it is not an option
radar1053 04-05-2006, 06:11 PM White is right as far as I am concerned. Darn I just looked at mine and it is a light pewter. But I prefer white

I LUV my truck
dogzapper 04-05-2006, 06:12 PM I absolutely love the new Graystone Metallic. They are awfully rare here in Oregon, so I was really surprised when one showed up at my local dealership. The truck had everything I wanted and nothing I didn't, so I bought it. Anyway, I'm just totally in love with Graystone Metallic. Doesn't show the dirt, is a great color and is uncommon enough to be noticed...what more could I want?
I could be just as happy with Victory Red or Arrival Blue. Both are absolutely gorgeous.
It seems that 90% of the local 2500HDs and 3500HDs are either white, black or Silver Birch. Not knocking them, but I wanted something a little different and easier to keep looking nice (without actually washing it, for pitys sake:eek::eek:  )

MAXMSCL 04-05-2006, 06:31 PM Greystone if I was going to buy metallic
aka108 04-06-2006, 09:11 AM Light gray or white are easiest to maintain. Wash my unit maybe 4 times a year since it is on pretty dusty roads and only so much dirt can stick to it. Anyway, always looks pretty clean from a few feet away and really clean after it rains.
2006LBZ 04-06-2006, 11:13 AM Blue was my choice. It is actually a rarer color than most of the others, yet according to this thread it is very popular. I work for a dealer, and we refer to it as "no-sell-blue" because they will sit and sit, yet I love the color and ordered mine in dark blue met.
For stock inventory, I always stock victory red, silver, white, black, and gray. If you want a rarer color, go dark red, blue, green, or SEO color orange, yellow, john deere green, whatever. We sold a bright yellow duramax ext. cab to a local business. Although SEO paint is built out for 06MY.
Let us know what you decide.:grd:
bounderx2 04-06-2006, 03:35 PM Fire Red. Wife likes the color. Love the truck. Hard to keep clean. As long as she is happy I am happy.
gurn911 04-06-2006, 05:32 PM Went with Greystone metallic, close second was Blue Granite for me.
Dr_goodwrench66 04-06-2006, 07:53 PM Bright Red
btfarm 04-06-2006, 07:56 PM Definitely dark blue metallic. I'm not biased of course.
Yup! Same by me...
kotton 04-07-2006, 07:21 AM Blue granite
RichieRich805 04-07-2006, 11:47 AM Silver Birch ):h
STROKER SMOKER 04-08-2006, 05:40 AM Back in BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tennessee Cattleman 04-08-2006, 09:33 AM Hard to beat plain old Summit White.
chevy_cowboy 04-08-2006, 11:37 AM Blue Granite Metalic is my choice, easiest color I've seen to keep clean, and it looks completely different in different lighting (so no getting tired of it) I liked it when I ordered my truck... 2 months after picking it up I love it even more :D
Close second was the new Graystone Metalic, we came close to getting that color instead but the blue won out.

yeah I've heard the same thing about dark blue and dark green, but I think you'll find Blue Granite to be a different story... dealers around here cant order them fast enough.
It wasnt very many years ago that GM's most popular color was blue... (medium blue metalic) I've owned 2 different vehicles in that color lol.

Doesn't the wife demand you wash your unit more often? ):h

SteelMastiff 04-08-2006, 07:23 PM Hard choice for me!!! I used to own a 03 Summit White and it will always be a favorite for me, I went truck shopping a couple of weeks ago and was going to order another Summit White!!! I just happened to pass by a 06 Graystone and my eyes buldged out of my head and I had to get a closer look!!! I fell in love with the Graystone, I haven't seen that much metal flake on a stock truck in a while!!! I just ordered my 06 on 4/7!!! and It will be Graystone Metallic!!!):h :muahaha:
Look at that flake!!!

gmperfomance03 04-08-2006, 09:04 PM SteelMastiff-
I guess you love white...I dunno just not my color I guess
SteelMastiff 04-08-2006, 09:25 PM SteelMastiff-
I guess you love white...I dunno just not my color I guess
The only reason why I like white is for the simple fact that it doesn't show scratches and dirt as quickly!! I am just anal-retentive when it comes to things like that!! just ask "dmaxalliTech" he has taken the opportunity to mess with me at times!! and with the new truck soon on it's way I am sure the torment will continue!!!:D
Silver Birch,
While the other darker metallic colors look OK to me, they contain metal flake that is too large and noticeable. The Silver Birtch is metallic, but the flakes seems to be about 50% smaller, so you get the nice look without looking like a 1970 ski boat or hot tub finish.
Like I said, the others colors are nice, however they just seem to be cheapened by the large metal flakes.
Dirt Dog 04-09-2006, 12:16 AM I just switch from Silver Birch on my 04 to Greystone Metalic on my new 06. The Silver was a lot easier to keep clean, but the way the Greystone Metalic shines in the sunshine is amazing. Lots of metal flake in it.
Deerefred 04-09-2006, 05:53 AM IF it was an Option....and it should be I would go with JOHN DEERE GREEN too like a previous reply....maybe a JD Ag yellow pin stripe along the side as well!!!! ......AFTER ALL, its AUSSIE'S NATIONAL COLOURS TOO....GREEN and GOLD...MEAN AND BOLD!!!!

Deerefred 04-09-2006, 09:10 PM GREAT...WELL DONE...thats close enough!!!
I will have one next time!!!!
TurboLouie 04-10-2006, 10:03 PM It was a tough choice between greystone metallic and blue granite. Blue granite finally won. It's amazing how it seems to change shades of blue - green - turquoise in different lighting conditions. For a show truck you can't beat black, but it's a pain to keep clean on a working truck. 1st - Blue granite, 2nd greystone metallic, 3rd black. just my opinion.
toba260 04-10-2006, 10:18 PM Silver Birch!!!:cool2:
CampCook 04-10-2006, 11:05 PM We had a 2003 in white and it was ever so easy to keep clean. The 06 is steel gray metallic to match the trailer. It is definitely growing on me. I like the metalic and it seems easy enough to keep clean. We just added some silver and glod graphics to mimic the trailer graphics.
BlackDevil06 04-11-2006, 10:02 PM BLACK!!!!!!!! But I am biased :)
bob camire 04-12-2006, 10:42 PM i went with light pewter on the 03....doesnt sho the dirt..however ..should be cooler in the desert if i ever get there with the fiver ! ):h
