ok, AC questions.

my ac i tried to fill the system,

i pt a gauge on the low side with the ac on preassure builds up and keeps building, while the compresser quickly engagues/disengagues.

i have released the preassure and it just builds up again. so i need some ideas on where to start:help:

plugged up orifice tube?

This was my thought as well.

If he is checking pressure on the low side, if the orfice tube was plugged or not operating wouldn't he read a high vacum being that the compressor has to push the refrigerant through the orfice tube? Seems if pressure in the low side his high the orfice tube would be wide open, allowing too much liquid through. Perhaps I am wrong, I am more fimilar with off-road ac, just a thought. What were high side readings anyways, and how did the lines feel?

My experience has been if the clutch cycles quickly (every couple of seconds) then you are too low on freon, or faulty hi/low pressure switch. I'm with the others what are your pressure readings?

System pressure will increase across the orifice screen under low freon conditions, where full charge will cause quick pressue rise with resultant low-hi differential across the screen.

Good indication of low freon is compressor quick-cycling - which can also happen with plugged screen

See this more in B-O-P systems, with both low and hi pressure switches
