Is it the torque mangament thing or what? I floor the pedal and let up about 1" off the floor and the truck really pulls harder as you can feel it in the seat pulling you back.

I would think it is a turbo lag thing. Sounds like the turbo is catching up to your input. Mine doesn't really take off good when you floor it. The computer is telling the engine how much power to make. Your foot is mearly a suggestion, since there is no throttle cable, or anything like that.

same deal here...i had to learn how to be smooth with the accelerator..nothing like my old 95' gasser just mash it and go!

Yep, same here. Engine begins to build compression and away you. I guess thats what it is as the engine becomes louder as if stuffing more air and fuel in the cylinders. I can actually hear when it going to start pulling hard before it does.

I know exactly what you mean, and I'm trying to figure it out looking at the tuning. I have come up with bupkus.

Seems max power is about 80% throttle.

Maybe if I had some free dyno time, I could prove it, but I feel the same thing you do.

I have the same problem. With my Dodge diesel, you could just mash it and go. I had to learn to ease into it a little bit with the Duramax.

It seems to me that my '02 pulls better at about 80% throttle than at full throttle also. I think I read something a while ago about the truck defueling or something at WOT. I am trying to find the thread.....

I too have noticed the same thing the truck seems to make more power if i roll into the throttle slower max seems to be closer to 80% throttle defelection this is just a seat of the pants feeling though.

You feel like a tractor puller how they roll into the throttle, but its hard to roll into the throttle when someone beside you is wanting to run ya,you can feel the truck is faster by rolling into the throttle then mashing it.I wonder if anyone has done a 1/4 mile run and see what the differance is by the mashing and rolling throttle deal.

......or dyno pull.

I notice the same but I always blow it off as psychological.):h
