Wasn't sure if anybody new the height of a 285/75/16 tire. Isn't it like 32.25 inches or something??? Just curious if anyone new off hand.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Totally dependent on brand. I have seen 285s range from 31.5-33 between brands...

Use the conversion chart in the upper right corner.

Hope this helps:)

By the book, 32.8"
I had to set my BullyDog to 33.75 for the BFG's.

Did you mean 32.75???

that's funny....for my speedo to be correct (verified with GPS) I have to have mine set at 32.25. I guess it really doesn't matter though. I guess each truck needs a little different programming too. That is what my BFGs measure too (nearly brand new with only 12000 miles on them). Goes to show you that they can measure differently and yes, that is what they measured on OEM rims too.

usually its gonna be a 33x11.5 tire, but there can be big variations between brands and tread types

Thanks for the great help guys. According to that link, my tire height should be 32.8. Are the stock tires that come on these rigs 245/65-16, or 245/75-16. I can't really remember now, been so long since I had stock tires:o: . I'll get the GPS out when it "arrives" and check it that way too. I set my hypertech for 32.5, so I'll need to see how close that is.

Thanks again everyone!!

Did you mean 32.75???
Nope.
Tried that and it only corrected 50% of the error.
I went to 34" and it was over by about 2mph
Dropped back to 33.5" and it was under, so I went to 33.75" and it seems to have nailed it.

I'm running 60psi, and with 22k on the tires am within 1/32 of 12/32nds all the way across on all four tires. Factory depth for the load range D 285 BFGs is 17/32, so I'm a little over 50% remaining.

I think it makes a difference if u put them on wider wheels to the wider the rim the more the tires try to flatten out. it seemd that way but i could be wrong

OK, I guess every truck is different for what it needs for the programming. My tires stayed the same height even with the wider rims. I am running less pressure in my tires since I don't tow heavy and that could make up some of the difference or maybe my speedo is just plain reading wrong too. Anyway, just wanted to see if yours was a typo...I have those all the time.
