Does anyone have experience or opinions of Fleetguard fuel filters?. I'm considering one to replace the Cat 1R0750 as my secondary filter as I'm experiencing difficulty with the Cat filters and my Permacool head. (threads are not compatible?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif). The fleetguard is rated at 2 microns. Thanks

Dodge uses fleetguard as most OTR trucks .... Shouldn't be a problem ....

What kind of problems are you having with the Cat !R-0750 on the PermaCool head? I am using that setup and it works fine. Another filter that will work very good on that head is the Baldwin BF 7633 filter ( 2 micron ). It also has an 0 ring just below the thread to seal the nipple. The Fleetguard is an excellent filter as well. I am using a 10 micron Fleetguard (FS 1001) in front of the lift pump. This a standard filter for the Cummings engines. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

Your PermaCool head may have the wrong nipple in it if the threads are not right. They are interchangeable. Should be 1" X 14 tpi.Edited by: VaderDmax

My first permacool head kept giving off the metal shavings but the filter would screw right on perfect. I returned that head for another and this one doesn't allow the cat filter to screw on smoothly at all but there are no shavings ! My parts guy had both fleetguard & baldwin 7633 which both went on perfect. an email from Baldwin indicated that the 7633 was a 5 micron filter so I went with the fleetguard which says 2 micron on it. .
