Ran into this the other day:
http://www.tcsproducts.com/products/default.asp?product_id=114&product_cat=2&validate= 1
For the heck of it, I called them up. They basically rebuild a lot of the Ally converters, and when they rebuild them, they only put this billet cover on it. They said >50% of the converters they get have toasted covers (I know the converter weakness is known - just passing on what they had to say).
If you buy the billet cover, you take your converter to a converter place, and have them cut & reweld their billet cover... Or, they're getting $500 + $50 core for a converter - basically it's a stock converter (clutches) + billet cover.
No, it's not a SC or ATS, and definately not worth skimping for guys running added power and getting in to the tranny, but might be an option for people not running a lot of power who have converter issues...
Ignore this if it's old news...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gifEdited by: Joe E
