: I joined the Juice Club!
NoWake200 04-07-2004, 07:46 PM I made it home last night after weeks of living in a hotel room at ATL...the first thing I did was wash my ride.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Today I opened up the Juice/Attitude box and put the 'bad boy' on!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
It went surpizingly good....I usually need to do installs at least twice before it is done.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif
Did the ATS overhead mount.....it looks great!! The Attitude is very simple to program..the thing is great!!!! I can not stop http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif about it.
I am sure I am going to have questions....so thanks in advancedhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

Max I am glad to see I provided you with some original material.
LOL, It's getting old now. I wore it out. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif Bronco, your gonna have to give me more material! What was that about the briggs?
Bronco 04-07-2004, 09:50 PM I think it went like this. My briggs makes more power than your truck and smokes less. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Trippin 04-07-2004, 10:01 PM NoWake,
Welcome to the dark side! Enjoy!
Idle_Chatter 04-08-2004, 07:22 AM Nowake, in addition to the extra horses and high performance of the Juice, I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised by the fundamental improvements in "driveability" that the Juice provides. I was really pleased by the improved and smoothed-out low and mid-range performance and it's really a dream for towing and interstate cruising where it just ticks along in overdrive. The Juice programming makes the Duramax what it was intended to be!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
NoWake200 04-08-2004, 09:43 AM Trippin, now I know why you have that Avtar....that is how I feel when I am out running.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Idle_Chatter, I did notice the mid-range performance just going up a hill near our home. Stock it always felt like it wanted to shift...now...I can give her fuel and it starts accelerating without shifting!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Now it is time to start thinking about the tool box/fuel tank for the bed.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wacko.gif
TheBac 04-08-2004, 09:43 PM Rick,
I guess you've got to change your signature now, huh? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
I will soon join you all....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif
Got talking to a customer on the route who has a Powerpuke....he's chipped and challenged me to a race after I get mine installed.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif
It's amazing to me that I buy a 7000 lb DIESEL truck to drive, and am STILL going to get into trouble with it....heh heh heh
Tomhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Pig.gifBacon (thanks for the pig smiley *LMAO*)
AndrewFessler 04-09-2004, 10:08 AM Thebac, did you get that race run in yet with your buddy?
TheBac 04-09-2004, 08:19 PM Andrew,
No..not yet. BUT my Juice is on it's way.....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif
We'll see what happens later this month....

problemchild 04-10-2004, 05:22 PM I bolted my HJ on my kids moped, now look at him go.
Terry 04-10-2004, 07:27 PM I hate to be one of those "me too" types, BUT...
ME TOO! Juice w/Attitude is on the way. :)
I like the look of the ATS mount, but I don't like
the location. I think I'm going to see if I can't
make a mounting that'll look good (with Attitude) on
the top cubby hole of the center console. More
"finished" as MaxPower would say.

problemchild 04-11-2004, 12:33 AM wonder why no one wanted my hj for sale brand new for 350 off?
Hacksaw 04-11-2004, 09:32 AM Hmmmm! I wonder? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif
TheBac 04-11-2004, 11:18 AM Rather not get off-topic, but Hacksaw...hmmmm, u may be right. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wink.gif

depbubba 04-12-2004, 07:46 PM Hey NoWake,
Did you tap your manifold yourself ? I was just outside looking at the pass. side exhaust and I don't see the 'flat spot' where the pyro would go. Is where you tap into the exhaust facing the wheel ? Did you have to pull the wheel and fender lining ?? I'm guessing that at the min. thats what I have to do.
Thanks for any reply.

This is a great post that Hoot put together.
Yes, I tapped the hole myself. There is a good picture of the area that you will tap for the prob in Hoot's post. I also had to remove the wheel well lining to get to the manifold. The job is very simple....the big thing you have to do is have the engine running to blow the chips out and make sure the tap goes in straight and use caution not to cross thread the hole. Again make sure you check out Hoot's post and if you have any more quesitons drop me a note.
depbubba 04-12-2004, 09:01 PM Thanks NoWake, Thats exactly what I was looking for...
socaldmax 04-12-2004, 11:29 PM After having tapped the passenger side and the driver side manifolds, I'd say the driver side manifold is easier to access with less risk.
Remember the poor guy who snapped off his tap and it destroyed a piston? That was on the pass. side. I did mine on the pass. side first, removed the fender liner and all. It went fine, but took a little while to R&R the liner. The driver side is easily accessed from the bottom and you drill straight up, chips fall straight down and the straight shot at the flat spot on the manifold might help to prevent tap breakage.
It's also much closer to where the Juice gets mounted.
NoWake200 04-13-2004, 11:07 AM If you brake the tap you are doing something VERY wrong or using a cheap tap.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
Half turn clockwise quarter turn counter clockwise....use oil.
I agree the Juice is closer to the drivers side....I wounder why they have us mounting the EGT on the passenger side?
Max Power 04-13-2004, 11:14 AM http://www.kennedydiesel.com/dmaxexhaustmods.html
That is why.
Michigana_Joe 04-13-2004, 03:57 PM http://www.kennedydiesel.com/dmaxexhaustmods.html
That is why.
Max:
Are you implying that this restriction will effect EGT readings or am I totally missing the point?
NWDmax 04-13-2004, 06:47 PM Too much material to drill and tap through plus added restriction in an already narrow area.

RanaExcavating1 04-16-2004, 11:17 PM I joined the juice club today!
OMG I can't get over the difference. I am stacked with the duramaximizer and oh boy what a ride. I chose to stay with standard juice running level 4 in T/H and 3 in reg. Huge difference.
The only complaint is that I think it would have been more rewarding if it took a little longer to install. I remember after installing a cam in my 70 Z-28 and not having the willpower to clean my hands before jumping in to fire it up.
Damn, with the Edge install I didn't even have a trace of grease or oil on my hands! It's like losing teeth as a kid and finding that the tooth fairy visited and left money under your pillow. Cheating life!
Either way I'll take it! If you’re thinking about doing it .... DO IT! Then drive it like you stole it.

Mine is still "in the mail", so I've got a few questions. Does the Juice w/Attitude come with a EGT probe?
or do you have to purchase that yourself? Also, as for the boost reading, does that come off the CAN bus?
or do you have to tap into the turbo houseing or wastegate hose?
Thanks for any info - I can.t wait to get mine installed too! :)
T.
flhrciblueice 04-17-2004, 06:26 AM Terry,
Mine came with the EGT probe. I think it gets the boost reading from bus. IIRC, you don't have to tap anywhere for the boost reading. I have not installed my attitude, so I am not sure.
Hacksaw 04-17-2004, 06:26 AM It comes with the probe, as far as boost, no tapping-just plug and play. Have fun, I think you will enjoy it.
RanaExcavating1 04-17-2004, 08:24 AM it's all plug and play. If you dont have the attitude or the egt probe you leave the three wires unconnected.
It's everything you expected and more. Now I know why everyone says the tranny is next. It will take a little while for the Alli to get along with the power.Edited by: RanaExcavating1
Terry 04-20-2004, 09:52 PM Just got it this afternoon. Got it installed,
and all I can say is.....
YEEE HAAWWWW!!! I LIKE IT! :) So far,
I just leave it on 2, since I don't have the
EGT probe installed yet.
I'll post some pics later (maybe).
WOooo HOoooo!!! :)

MaineMax 04-22-2004, 02:20 AM I just became a member as well, needless to say I am completely satisfied and impressed. Level 5 is damn near undescribable.
The only question I have is, what is best used to remove rubber splatter from the rear quarter panels?
