: Have you replaced oil pan gasket?

After installing twins, I have an oil leak. It seems to be coming from where the oil pan mates to the block, as if the gasket has failed. It DOES NOT seem to be coming from where I tapped for the oil drain for second turbo.
Around the BACK half of the pan where it bolts up, is wet with oil. I had thought I overfilled the engine with oil, and that may have caused it. I recently drained enough oil and added to make sure I wasn't overfull. I had this leak a while before I noticed it. Could overfilling cause the leak due to high pressure and too much oil in motor?

Or has this problem been had before?

are the bolts tight? friends with a cummins realized they were quite loose @ 60K. 1/2-3/4 a turn on all of them fixed it.

I thought about that, don't know for sure. As soon as I have daylight and it's not raining I can check. I just thought is was awfull funny it never happened until after installing twins.
When I installed twins, I think I overfilled it I was in such a hurry. I didn't realize it until a while when I found the leak.
Kinda odd too, I just passed 61k.

You could have a Ford and have to replace oil pan because the make them thing gage scrap metal that rusts though in 2 years.

There is no pre-formed gasket, RTV sealant is applied to make the gasket. Just make sure you tighten the pan in the sequence listed in a service manual and tighten to spec with a torque wrench.

I'd look it all up for you, but I'm in Nebraska right now and don't have all my references with me.

Lakingslayer helped me with this when I had to pull the pan--try contacting him.

The bolts were a little loose, tightened them and we'll see if that does it.
