DOES THE TRUCK REALLY HAVE A OIL SENSOR FOR THE DIC OR DOES IT GO BY MILES? 2 OIL CHANGES AGO I DIDNT RESET THE DIC AND WENT ABOUT 10K BEFORE IT SAID CHANGE OIL. THIS TIME I ONLY HAVE 4K MILES ON THIS CHANGE AND I ONLY HAVE 45% LEFT AND NOTICE FROM THE BEGINING THAT THE OIL CHANGED TO DARK AND LOOKED WORE OUT VERY QUICK.KINDA MAKES ME WONDER IF IT DOES HAVE SOME KIND OF SENSOR......

Calculates miles, throttle position, hours etc. No sensor.

The DIC is just a display. All the information is sent to it by the various computers in the truck. The Oil life information comes from the BCM and PCM information. It looks at how the vehicle has been operated while it's been running since the last reset along with engine run time to adjust the time limit.

I have an "LS" - simple DIC display output - how do you get the DIC to display remaining oil life?

thanks,

jeff

I don't have any steering wheel controls and am wondering how to check my remaining oil life? Were you asking me this question?

thanks,
