Best advice would be to use the cell phone number that MikeL gave you in your other post.

Remember....he is in California.

Give this a try, inspect all electrical connections: 3 speed sensors, unplug the case connector hook it back up pushing it on till you hear/feel it lock.

Ok scratch the drive part, it engages at first and as soon as u hit the gas it shifts back to neutral and "RANGE SHIFT INHIBITED".

Check connecter at bell housing speed sensor. Check for bent pins at all 3 speed sensor connections.

Jus checked every plug that i unplugged. Every pin is perfectly straight. Do u think it might be the TCM since i got a code for TCM malfunction??
If not whats next on the checklist. Thanks

PS when u said connector, u mean the pins right? or do u mean wires pulled from the female plug?

I have not seen a TCM go bad yet. Check the o rings on the pressure switch manifold. That is the triangle shaped plate bolted to the valvebody. Are you the guy that has been playing phone tag with me? If so, I am sorry I missed your calls but have returned them. Call my cell asap 310 918 9678 for some help.

I was in Culver City but I came from Inglewood Trans before that. I went back and bought the shop in '78. Do we know each other?

Thats me thats been playin phone tag.....I didn't have time to mess with the tranny today, had to memorize a HUGE speech 4 school, and the old lady if leavin for floida tomorrow, but since it all good now its back to work tomorrow! Mike, the valve with the check ball and the white spring, boost vavle i think is the name, it is still rough about 1/2 way in what should i do, should i have suncoast overnite me a new one or try to clean up the hole where it goes. My uncle is a tranny guy and he told me he has had the same problem and told me to get a piece coat hanger about 8 inches long (straight) and about the last inch double it over as flat as u can get it. Then take a piece of 800 grit sandpaper (round only, preferred as small in diameter as possible) and put a end of it in the doubled over end of the hanger and wrap it up tight, put it in the valve hole thing and hook it up to a drill and clean up the hole?? Sound like a plan?, or should i do sumthing else?? Thanks and oh if u could mike give me a call when u can i got a new cell phone # 1-304-395-5800. I tried to call u at 8:00 or so ur time, but no answer. THANKS!!

The bore is not the problem, it is the valve. DO NOT sand the bore. Where did you buy your kit? Have that person handle the overnight of a new valve.

No i wish, my boost valve is real rough. I put my trans in after i got done the first time and my truck wouldn't move at all. So i had to take the tranny out again. Its a lot of work puttin that thing in there and havin to take it right out again. IM PISSED. But i didn't realize the boost valve was rough when I put it in. I guess thats what i get for not bein a tranny guy but oh well live and ya learn. Lifes a bit*h then ya die.

Checked the back of the Pressure switch. There were 5 o-rings and it took 5? bolts to take off. Is that how many o-rings there is suppose to be there? Doesn't look like there is another place for another one. I didn't see what is triangular, but I checked that the book called a Pressure switch. Maybe were not talkin about the same thing. Im goin to buy another digital camara. Thanks

About the boost valve, I tried to put it in backwards from the way it was suppose to go and i couldn't even get the thing in there. So the valve has to be the problem or one of them  . So is there anyway that this could have been my problem with not being able to move, I HOPE SO! Thats all i need more problems. If this doesn't fix it it is either:
A. Going for a lil drive to see Eric with the tranny or
B. Its loaded on the "Big Brown Van" aka UPS to pay a visit to Mike.

no, the trans wasn't even in it when i pulled the codes

Then the codes mean nothing. TCM must be connected to trans for bonafide code reading.

Wel i kinda feel like a jackass, but i figured the codes would have stored from when the trans was in it, Thanks!

When you keyed up to pull the codes, you also set a bunch with the trans etc disconnected.

I had the same exact problem with my boost valve, there was a burr on the back side of the leading valve seat. The first big section on the valve, the trailing edge had a burr like it had been hit with a screw driver, Eric/Joe overnighted me another one, and it had a similar mark on it, but I cleaned it up, stroked 50-60 times in the bore and she fit perfectly.

When mine first acted up 3 weeks ago, they hadn't seen an lly boost vavle stick yet, so it took a couple hours to figure it out. Crappy part is, it was all over the phone, so my hat was off to Eric, Mike, and Joe for being patient with me.

well a new valve didn't do anything for me, its still messed up. IM PISSED OFF!! But oh well, i know this guy around me thats a buddy thats good with transmissions thats gonna look at it for me. Im gonna let him look at it before i start the long trip to Eric.

Im gonna check line pressure tomorrow and if line pressure is in check it could be a NSBU switch. If line pressure is not ok then at least i know its a torque converter or valve problem. I checked the price of a NSBU switch and it was 144.95   Is that seem high, i thought they were only like 60-80 dollars??? Eric i am going to call u in the morning and order a NSBU switch and try to have it overnighted. THANKS!! Cody

I didn't get any codes, messages, or lights in my truck when that valve was jacked up. The tranny thought it was fine, just not enough fluid in there to get it to couple correctly.
