can anyone give me their opinion on the true flow air intake system. i currently have the stock system modified, just looking to pick up a little more airflow without loosing filtration.

ive never used a true flow system but dirtbikes, quads, etc. all use foam filters. that's gotta tell you something. i would run the true flow on my truck.

I think they make a decent system. Some say their filtration isnt all that good, but of course they claim its the best. Who honestly knows? Another option you could go with is the AFE Super Stock kit 73-10062 which includes a PG7 replacement filter and the intake tube from the filter box to the turbo.

If you are looking for big HP gains, and you have ~500rwhp, swapping the intake assy isn't going to do too much. Perhaps 10rwhp at the very best. Perhaps zero. Normal gain from what I've tested and observed is 3-5rwhp.

It's a quirk of turbo systems. They aren't as susceptible to intake restriction as NA engine are. They will just suck harder until they acheive target boost. The power gains are from the turbo having to work less on the exhaust side, hence less backpressure. Mild gains in EGT reduction are a byproduct.

most i can suggest is what i did, cut large hole in front of air box and i also purchased a true flow filter itself. i didnt want to pay the large price for the whole system, beings that i have read and researched and saw that it didnt help alot to have the whole system. just my .02

thanks for the input, i figured any aftermarket intakes would produce little to no gain.
