I am having trouble bolting my trans back in. The rear of the motor is way to high and putting it in a bind. I can get the bottom 2 bolts in but after that nothing. HELP!!!! Any suggestions?? I took a ram and try to push up on the front of the oil pan. Has any body had this problem. I need to find a way to lower the rear of the motor.:help:

Never heard of such a thing. It wasn't too high when you pulled it. Disconnecting exhaust will help but there is something else wrong.

Well its the motor b/c i was looking around and one of the fan blades was actually lower than the lower fan shroud....I jack the front of the motor up and it goes up where it is suppose to be and then the ram i was using runs out, im gonna get a cherry picker and put a bolt in where a second alternator would be and lift the front of the motor up to pull the back down....so u have never heard of this, i have talked to other people and they said its no big deal they have done it on other vehicles but they have never done an Allison or duramax. Hope it works:(

I hope it works also. What I am trying to say is after doing close to 300 Allisons, I have not had this problem. If you can not figure this out call my cell tomorrow or Sunday 310 918 9678 and I will help you figure it out.

I got it.. I had to use the cherry picker to lift the front of the motor and after about 3 hours of fighting it. I stayed up all night, literally its 6:30 in the morning here, putting the tranny and everything else in and im waitin on Advance Auto to Open to get some ATF. I wonder if it was where the truck sat for about 5 days with no tranny? Do u think that had something to do with my motor shifting? When i first went to bolt the tranny up the rear tail piece of the tranny was hittin the bottom of my cab and i still couldn't get a bolt on the top of the bell housing. I don't know what happened , all i care about is its back together now. I am proud of myself and as far as i know i am the youngest, 17, to install a suncoast trans myself. Thanks Mike

good job on the install...the biggest thing about doing something the first time is be patient... i know its hard but you got to try..

Learn to not force things, when everything lines up like it should you should be able to push the engine and trans together with one hand.
