Well it looks like my foot and edge level 3 -5 have started to wear on the tranny. It seems to be slipping and not have the power it once did, although it has not limped on me :) So I think it is time for an upgrade. I bought a warranty with the truck so it should help with some of the cost to rebuild it, I do however know I do not want a stock tranny. Are there any good shops in/near Sacramento or should I take it so S. Cal?

If I was that close to So Cal. I would drive down to Mike L. and have him do it. Just the customer service that I have gotten over the phone (and I have not even recieved my tranny yet) is worth it!

They had the truck for over a week to do the install. I think they got the truck, took it apart, and then ordered the parts. It seemed like longer than it should have taken. He would call and the lady would tell him so and so is on a test drive and he will call you when he gets back. He never called back, happened more than one time. Now, probaly less than three months old he is having trouble with the trans itself and is going to bring it back to them and see what is up. Another thing is it always shifted way to soon from day one. I dont think it should have left the shop this way but it isnt my truck and I told my buddy several time to talk to b&h about it. Do you think the truck should shift into second gear while idleing (let off brakes starts rolling and shifts into 2nd in a couple senconds)? I know their are other shops that will take care of their customers, especially the one in socal.

The owner of the truck knows that the truck will shift early until you are in the gas and he was cool with that. He brought it back a couple weeks later to get a deep pan installed and said he loved the way the transmission performed. If a shop does'nt know there is a problem they cant fix it.

Yes, it does perform better than his stock trans. The more he drives it now, the more he wishes it was different. He doesnt like it all now. How far on the throttle does he have to be? Like taking off from a stop sign it shift into 2nd at 10mph and then into 3rd at 20mph. That is quite soon.

Who told him this?
We are going quite far off topic so if you want to further discuss this pm me.:)

Tell your friend I can help him with a little valvebody work. It could be as simple as a cable adjustment which I could talk him through.

when it is time to do mine, i will be making a journey from Portland, OR to So. Cal to see Mike. It will be worth it to drive 4 days to have a tranny done right by a well respected person. It will also be purchasing a piece of mind knowing it is done correctly and the support is always there.:)
