I've got the tick, the knock, the rattle (intercooler pipe) the hammering (timing advanced on a cold engine), the idle surge (only on FPPF) and this beast comes up with a few new ones every couple days. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif


They say that this diesel is quiet enough that we can now hear noises that have always been in diesels but we have never been able to hear over the clatter. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif


My new rule of thumb.......if it runs.......RUN IT!


I am tired of trying to figure out every little knock and fart. By the way I have heard that noise too.....the guys with exhaust systems also comment on it.......something with the firing order..

My engine noise has been very consistant since new. I had the tick for a few days and that about it. Of course it is louder when cold but when its warm it always sounds the same.
