Had some service work done to my 2005 yesterday and they did the latest reflash. But I am at a loss to find the fuel filter life left in my DIC. Anybody have a clue where this should show up?

It is my understanding that the tech has to turn the FFR option on with the tech II after the updated flash.......unfortunatley many techs don't know that or just fail to do it. After you get that done I suggest that you do a reset of the FFR right off the bat as it won't start counting down until you do. ):h

I don't have the filter life on my DIC but I do get the change fuel filter message. I think certain trucks have the fuel filter, fuel economy, and other readouts and some don't, probably a difference in the models. The ones that should have these readouts will have controls for them on the steering wheel or near the instrument cluster on the dash.

My fuel filter liife is activated on the lower left button on the steering wheel, one of two that activate the DIC display. I check both DIC categories daily.

As to what should be done to for your truck to display DIC fuel filter information I would think your dealership or a local Jiffy Lube should be able to assist.

And a fyi...my fuel filter change (done at 10.7k miles) has increased my DIC fuel economy to 16.2, up from 15.9 a few thousand miles ago. Maybe the 10k "break in" period has occurred in my lly; the Napa Gold filter purchased on fuelfilter.com may also be a factor in my increased fuel economy.
