I just received my new 4WD CC D/A in 25U dark metallic blue. I think it it quiter than my LLY. I am happy with the changes that GM made to the transmission cooler placement and size, ducting for the air cleaner and the radiator/fan shroud. Has anyone had an issue with the paint? My issue is more with the areas you don't normaly look at. When I opened the tail gate, in the area where it meets the bed it is light on the side walls of the bed and you can see the primer. The underside of the wheel wells are not coated well either. Anyone else with a dark color truck see this? Should I try to get it fixed by GM? I know it sounds nuts but when I got my red LLY, I put a couple of heavy coats of wax in the wheel wells to make it easy to keep them clean. I waited 3 months for the paint to cure to wax the truck, but I did the wheel wells right off the bat.

I also have that dark blue metalic on my 2006. I agree the underside of the truck could use a bit more paint, However on the actual painted surfaces I have seen no problems and am still very pleased with this truck. I guess another thing for me is, its a truck not a show car. Can the quality be improved? well definatly, I don't know of any mass produced vehicle that can't be improved. Keep us informed on what happens if you try to get GM to take care of this. I am also waiting on the paint to cure before waxing the truck. I am kinda thinking about the Zaino route this time.

You're not nuts, I wish I would have gotten my wheel wells sprayed with a smooth bedliner coating, but wax woulda been a good thing too. Oh well, I'll just have to settle for the high pressure car wash.

I agree about the paint on the visible surfaces being good. I also am very happy with the truck. I didn't see these issues with my red truck and was just kinda surprised. I think the white primer showing through the dark blue paint is VERY VISIBLE. The color is awsome though.

Your welcome. I get all my great ideas way after the fact...:D Anyways, If you do it, let me know how it works out and post some pics. Oh, and make sure it's the smooth-surface stuff, the rough-surface liner might be worse for holding dirt & mud, and a real PIA to clean.
