This is my first chevy and I have always had Ford Powerstrokes in the past. I have to say I love my new chevy it does everything that my Ford did but has a 100% better ride and creature conforts. I will get to the point. Why can't the allison have a shift kit installed to boost the line pressure and firm up the shifts like the Ford tranny. All of the post I've read state that the tranny has to be pullled and if your going to do that you may as well rebuild or repalce it with a sun coast tranny. Does anyone have any inforamtion on this. I would love to run the extreme level on my power pup and have it shift like a normal trans without de-fueling.:help:

You can install a shift kit but you still have to tear into the tranny there no way around it with the allison its just a better tranny overall and thats why you have to go inside it to make it better. Maybe Mike L or Eric will chime in about if just putting in the transgo valave will do much

I think you can do a shift kit effectively on a 6 speed without pulling the trans. Where are you located? Talk to Mike L

With the Transgo you only need to drop the pan on the Allison 6speeds.

I just had Mike's shop do the kit today (along with flushing the Dex-VI out and replace it with TorqueDrive).
