I just got a complete Power Wagon Front end. Is there any way I can install it on my 3500 Duramax 4X4? I'm tired of breaking shCensored t everytime I go out (I like to have lots of fun out there in the dunes). I need some input.

You mean a dodge power wagon?? If so then it would take alot of modification to make it fit IMO mounting and everything else will be different.

what are you breaking??

The IFS has proven to be very durable and if you are constantly breaking things, Im skeptical whether a solid front axle will hold up any better..

I take my truck out to glamis. There is 2 dodges in our group. just trying to keep up with them Ive broken inner tie rod, popped 2 upper ball joints, cv joint and my steering box. thats just this weekend. I have a 6" procomp lift on 35"s. I brang up the idea of using oru kit and a dana 60 to my dodge mechanic friends and the offerd the 2005 dodge power wagon axle. this has to be a better axle than a older model dana. By the way I have a dana 60 off a 90 3/4 ton chevy i could use.

I would first get some tie rod sleeves, and lower the torsion bars next time you go out in the dunes. When the angles are level, CV joints are actually stronger than u-joints..

thanks Ben, a learned about the not raising the torsion bars to the max last time i broke my CV shaft. i got a big lecture about it. I hate the stance on my truck. but ive learned to live with it.

I'm not familiar with the power wagon front end. Might be best to see what side diff it is. To use the factory t-case, it will need to be drivers side. Also, spring perch width and overall width will be a factor. I imagine the overall width is the same, and the spring perches can be moved if need be. If the diff is on the right side, most guys are spending 8k or so to put an SFA in our trucks. Thats alot of cash, but it would make it freakin cool!

Is there anyway I could bend the A-arms? Also does any one know of any aftermarket A-arms with Moog type ball joints?

Im picking up the front end in about to hours. I know it has a locker, 4.56 gears, and a automatic swat bar disconnect.

Don't forget you need to match the gearing to the rear end as well. I think everything is a trade off. You may be happy with that sfa on the dunes but on the highway its not going to ride as well as the ifa. The SFA is only about a 200 year old technology. With the IFA you will like the road but obviously your not happy with the dunes. So its all trade off, depends on what you want to give up to get what you want. If a SFA is what you want then by all means do it, a lot of people have. Keep us informed with how it goes

The Powerwagon front end in an AAM 9.5" . It's slightly bigger than a D60 but has ball joints. If you have access to the suspention I'd grab it too. It'll be some fab work but it will be custom :D . The pumpkin is on the correct side. I don't care how old of technology SFA is it's still the toughest,no questions asked. Show us some pic's and :grd: . I hope to be doing a SFA swap soon.
