Well here is my new Chevy Silverado LBZ 6-speed Allison LT3 CC regular box.

As this is my first ever diesel and further to that my first ever truck bigger than the Chevy 1500 Z71 series, I researched these things to death, over and over making sure I knew what I was getting into.

I must say, even me and hard person to impress, can't believe the power of this thing. It like a permanant ear to ear smile. This thing is the alternative to Viagra!! The best feeling I get is smoking the Civics at stop lights. This one kid is like, "Holy, whatcha done to that thing?" I was like, "nothing, I just picked it up 5 minutes ago, it has 10 miles on it". His jaw dropped like a rock!!

I am getting 20.2mpg +/- hand calculated depending on how I drive it already - which is better than what I got with my 5.3 Z71.

I was scared to move from my beloved Z71's, Chevy's have done me very well, but I ain't looking back at all, this thing straight out rocks !!!

I keep reading and I want a new one. I hope it all goes well for you. I had a 2wd 1/2 ton 5.3. Owned chevys all my life. 87, 92, 94, 96, 01 When they changed the body style of these trucks the durability left. I shelled the rear end of my 01 ripped the tail gate off and had three sets of leaf springs. The dealer told me that a toyota on a car trailer would be better suited for a 3/4 ton to pull than a 1/2 ton. When did that change??????? O well have fun with it. I have enjoyed every second of mine.):h

Very nice... Enjoy! You will want to read the maint. schedule at the top of the maint. section. You'll find it's quite a bit more costly to maintain than your 1/2 tons but IMO well worth it! Tell that snow to go away!

Congrats on the ride. biggest thing i had to get used to was my 01 hd had the 6.0 in it. High reving to say the least. Cleaned alot of fart canon toters with it. This one is definently more efficent in the stomping of the fart canon boxes. Have fun ):h
