Hi:

I just took my 25000HD D/A 2WD shortbed to Jiffy Lube this weekend. They changed the oil, replaced with 11 quarts of Pennzoil 15-40 weight and changed the filter as well.

I drove the truck Saturday, all seemed well. I drove the truck yesterday, Sunday, around 400 miles. In the middle of the day, the "change engine oil" light came on and now stays on for about :20 whever I start the truck, then it goes out.

I did an idiot check to make sure that the Jiffy Lube guys didn't do anything stupid. No rags left under the hood, the oil filler cap is on tight, I checked the oil level and it's full. No leaks or drip either.

Any ideas? I am going to the dealer soon to get an alignment and a few other small things looked at but I wanted to make sure that this light coming on is not a big deal, like a defective filter issue or something like that that I should be reacting to.

Any advice on why this light is coming on now, ironically,when I just changed the oil?

They didn't reset the oil life monitor. Just turn the ign on then press the accelerator pedal to teh floor 3 times withing 5 seconds. Watch for the change oil message to flash, then it is reset.
