: 06 Camper Mirrors
Chad 03DMAX 03-27-2006, 10:57 AM Any one want to trade my 06 camper mirrors for a regular set of power folding mirrors. I like the mirrors but since I hardly ever tow, they are useless. Also, I am afraid that the side of the garage will take them off someday.
badmaxx 03-27-2006, 11:02 AM If you are intresed in a set of telescoping tow ones i would trade you.
kg02dmax 03-27-2006, 12:36 PM I would trade you a set of folding mirrors from and 02. They are the small one ( not the telescoping) but the have the chome front piece on them. Would probally also send alittle cash your way with the mirrors if you interested.
wishforit 03-27-2006, 01:02 PM i would be intrested.
bounderx2 03-27-2006, 03:51 PM I would also be interested if it doesn't work out for wishforit.

Chad 03DMAX 03-27-2006, 04:30 PM Any you guys in Indiana where we could meet and trade mirrors easily and make sure everything is going to work for both parties involved? Otherwise, I can't go without mirrors:mad:

TedReminder 03-27-2006, 09:21 PM Went ahead and put the driver side on. Not a hard job at all. Plug and play, for sure. Another thing; My truck did not have turn signals in the mirrors but the camper mirrors do. The door is wired for turn signals, and they work.

cmadmaxman 03-27-2006, 10:06 PM On the 99 to 02 trucks, you can pick up the turn signal feed from under the hush panel under the steering wheel.

The brown plug under the hush panel will be the far left plug, with the light blue for the left hand mirror, and the dark blue for the right hand mirror. Both wires will be on the top row of the plug. This will keep only your turn signal at the mirror LED's.

Here you can see how I attached the plugs at the mirror. The LED's will ground with the brown wire and the blue wire will go to the wires to the plug under the dash. I grounded the LED lead to the metal bracing by the plug under the hush panel.
I have put the 06 mirrors on my truck and they work great!:D

Castaway 03-29-2006, 11:38 PM Chad you have another PM
Fyrman2286 04-04-2006, 08:52 AM Hey Chad still interested?
speedracer 04-04-2006, 05:01 PM Are the 06 camper mirrors sitting level. I have seen more then a few new trucks where the are off level, wondering if GM corrected this issue?
2006LBZ 04-04-2006, 05:21 PM So they are plug and play from the power folding mirrors to the camper mirrors? I have power folders, and was going to order the camper mirrors as long as I don't have to modify the wiring. I should have ordered camper mirrors on my truck, didn't like the styling, so I didn't. Now I can't see around my friggin trailer, so now it will cost me dearly.
Also, can they be swapped out by simply removing the small triangle trim, or do I need to remove the entire door panels?
Boilermaker 04-04-2006, 07:03 PM Sorry guys, already taken.

You will need to pull off the whole panel it's easy.

'06 Chevy/GMC left and right camper mirrors all angle upward away from the truck. I don't think it's an issue to "correct". Something like that doesn't go into production unless it's intentional.
I noticed the angle first time I saw them, but I didn't think anything of it. It doesn't bother me, I think they're pretty decent looking mirrors and a lot of mirrors aren't perfectly level. What I did think was "Wow, look at those mirrors! Huge main glass, bigger convex glass than anything else I've seen and they extend out a long way."
speedracer 04-05-2006, 03:59 PM Mirrors should be level, its basic engineering. We have waited for decent tow mirrors for the D/A for awhile now, and these are the best so-far, but to have them sticking out at an angle, when a little more R&D would have corrected this, I can see why GM seems to fall all over itself corrected issues that could have been done right from the get go.
