:help: I saw a component on the net somewhere that will do this, but now i can't seem to locate it. I have a 2000 K3500 TD Dually. I found some for newer models but not this one. Anyone have a link or info?
Thanks in advance.

Actually if you have access to a tech II scanner or your dealer might even do it for you. I went from 245/75R16 to 285/75R16 and my friend that works for GMC just brought home their Tech II and you can change the tire size with it. There was a ton of options in there. Good luck.

i was told you couldnt change it with a scanner and had to play with your VSS box under the dash by desoldering and resoldering some pins, theres a site with a calculator for this deal, ill try to find it

Not sure what vehicles that site references, but that's not the way to do it in the Silverado.

I used a Hypertech Power Programmer. You can adjust to anything you want. Worked great on my 03. No wire cutting, soldering or anything even close to that. Takes less than 10 minutes and can be out back to stock in less than that.

Will this work on my year vehicle? (this is why I originally posted in the 6.5 forum). This Chevrolet stuff is all new to me (first Gm I've ever owned other than the LT1 motor in my Malibu Boat).

There are a few hand held programmers for your model truck that can do this and I think Hypertec is one. There is also the internet route. Try www.pcmforless.com (http://www.pcmforless.com) or Westers, these guys will reprogram your PCM to whatever specs you give them. Cost is about 250 bucks, but Bryan at PCMForLess can do some real wonders with the PCM parameters. He can change shift points, alter tire size, gear ratio, speed limiter, and even add power if you want to start using 93 octane fuel. His 87 octane tune can really wake up a truck and I can vouch for that as my brother's 1999 1500 can attest. Also, any additional changes are modest in cost once you have done the first programming.

I have updated my sig to better display my vehicle. It is a Diesel w/Manual. 93 octane is out of the question as is shift points. I thought I saw a small eletronic device that I could solder in the line that goes to the speedo, but now I can't find it at all.

I thought you had to do it though the VSS buffer also. At least on that model truck. JAC6695 is getting ready to do it on his, Might contact him.

www.Superlift.com (http://www.Superlift.com) has speed calibrators. I think about 150 bucks and is good up to like 40's or something. Hope this helps.
