: When you look at your DIC what do you see?

I was wondering or maybe taking a poll of your DIC ( ok sorry enough) but what do you leave on as the display? I like to do the Ave MPG to see how high I can get it. But will flip to see what my trip mileage is on this tank. Maybe that is why I drive more gently now, I see what happens when my foot gets heavy the numbers just fall.

Avg MPG. Why I don't know, I guess I keep it there hoping it will go higher than 13.8.

Usually, instant MPG.

Sounds like Max might need a recalibration. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Mine is usually on instant MPG, so when I see 2 MPG I let up on the pedal. It kinda keeps the mileage up. Max Power, don't you use the metric system up there?? Inches and centimeters, it's all the same.

Instant MPG

I keep it on "instant MPG". When the instant MPG is very low, then I look quickly in the rear view mirror to see if it was a Dodge or Ford truck I just passed... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

Max,

Is that in Limp Mode or Turbocharged?

MPG means nothing on a modded truck so I just leave mine on the odo

Welp! I finally got 14.mpg when I reached 500 miles on the odometer. I have been hoping for more. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif

Well the whole reason I got mine was to "play" with it. Nyuk. I am always flipping the buttons to the different displays. Usually between, range, trip, avg economy, and odo.

I always leave it off. I think that's the best part about having it, no LED display in the center.

I switch between instant and life mpg. I keep hoping I can get my life mpg to break 19, but i've been stuck in the high 18s for awhile. I can't stand to look at the odometer unless I am calculating mileage, because it saddens me to watch the miles roll away.

I am the same way, I do about 3k per month so it adds fast. Go Diesel go diesel

Quit playing with your DIC's and drive the darn thing! Thank goodness they dont make a DIC remote control, nobody would leave their driveway.

Seriously, mine is set to instant.

Wow, thought I lost my DIC. I hooked my boat up for the first time and turned my lights on to test my boat lights. Well I went to get back in and for got to turn my lights to auto. As I took off I looked down and my DIC was not there, what even freaked me out more was my trasmission display was gone too. I thought maybe I shorted something out when I pluged my boat trailer in. Dumb me turn the lights back to auto and poof my DIC was back where it belonged.

I have been leaving mine on Avg MPG. Heck, if I had this on my gasser, it probably would have gotten better mileage as well!! I tend to drive easier when I see how much the avg mpg drops when my foot is in it! But it sure raps out nice for a stock diesel when getting on the freeway!

If you play with it too much, you'll either break it, or go blind !!http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Most of the time it is on Instant MPG, at times I switch to Total Miles.
