: When you look at your DIC what do you see?
Wickedfn4u 04-05-2004, 12:15 AM I was wondering or maybe taking a poll of your DIC ( ok sorry enough) but what do you leave on as the display? I like to do the Ave MPG to see how high I can get it. But will flip to see what my trip mileage is on this tank. Maybe that is why I drive more gently now, I see what happens when my foot gets heavy the numbers just fall.
Max Power 04-05-2004, 12:36 AM 12 inches errr um I mean Instant MPG. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif
Wickedfn4u 04-05-2004, 12:39 AM You dang Canadians always over inflate what is the rate 60% now?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Voodoo 04-05-2004, 12:50 AM Avg MPG. Why I don't know, I guess I keep it there hoping it will go higher than 13.8.
Wickedfn4u 04-05-2004, 12:57 AM I think it really keeps me in check, cause/effect
Vehicle odometer, guess it's just habit....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
Max's display would just depress me.....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif
sfischer 04-05-2004, 02:36 AM Usually on Ave. MPG as well.
plrod 04-05-2004, 08:06 AM Off
sycloneGuy 04-05-2004, 08:33 AM Usually, instant MPG.
Sounds like Max might need a recalibration. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Dmax Tim 04-05-2004, 08:57 AM I'll second the OFF mode.
aketay 04-05-2004, 09:07 AM Mine is usually on instant MPG, so when I see 2 MPG I let up on the pedal. It kinda keeps the mileage up. Max Power, don't you use the metric system up there?? Inches and centimeters, it's all the same.
TEXMudder 04-05-2004, 09:18 AM Instant MPG
Dura_Mike 04-05-2004, 09:23 AM I keep it on "instant MPG". When the instant MPG is very low, then I look quickly in the rear view mirror to see if it was a Dodge or Ford truck I just passed... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Rollin' Thunder 04-05-2004, 09:25 AM Max,
Is that in Limp Mode or Turbocharged?
dmaxalliTech 04-05-2004, 10:25 AM MPG means nothing on a modded truck so I just leave mine on the odo
Mr. Mister 04-05-2004, 04:18 PM I third the OFF
Melvin Hatcher 04-05-2004, 04:39 PM Avg MPG. Why I don't know, I guess I keep it there hoping it will go higher than 13.8.
Welp! I finally got 14.mpg when I reached 500 miles on the odometer. I have been hoping for more. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif
nassdmax 04-05-2004, 04:43 PM AVG Econ... Usually look at 17-20 depending on fuel blend...
It looks too bare to be off.
maynard9089 04-05-2004, 05:45 PM odometer
Redapple 04-05-2004, 06:30 PM Well the whole reason I got mine was to "play" with it. Nyuk. I am always flipping the buttons to the different displays. Usually between, range, trip, avg economy, and odo.
Bill
GMC2500HD 04-05-2004, 06:33 PM Odometer usually but sometimes Avg MPG
Max Power 04-05-2004, 06:57 PM Well the whole reason I got mine was to "play" with it. Nyuk. I am always flipping the buttons to the different displays. Usually between, range, trip, avg economy, and odo.

What's that? You like playing with your DIC? http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
dieselman 04-05-2004, 07:01 PM I always leave it off. I think that's the best part about having it, no LED display in the center.
sycloneGuy 04-05-2004, 07:09 PM He payed for it, so he can play with it all he wants.
LIfe is GOOD
Dave
bowtiebob 04-05-2004, 08:40 PM I switch between instant and life mpg. I keep hoping I can get my life mpg to break 19, but i've been stuck in the high 18s for awhile. I can't stand to look at the odometer unless I am calculating mileage, because it saddens me to watch the miles roll away.
Wickedfn4u 04-05-2004, 09:12 PM I am the same way, I do about 3k per month so it adds fast. Go Diesel go diesel
T.P.N. 04-06-2004, 12:43 AM jump between avg mpg & instant mpg . . .
Wimpie 04-09-2004, 10:22 AM Quit playing with your DIC's and drive the darn thing! Thank goodness they dont make a DIC remote control, nobody would leave their driveway.
Seriously, mine is set to instant.
Redapple 04-09-2004, 10:38 PM A fully functional DIC is another word for happinesshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Wickedfn4u 04-10-2004, 11:09 PM Wow, thought I lost my DIC. I hooked my boat up for the first time and turned my lights on to test my boat lights. Well I went to get back in and for got to turn my lights to auto. As I took off I looked down and my DIC was not there, what even freaked me out more was my trasmission display was gone too. I thought maybe I shorted something out when I pluged my boat trailer in. Dumb me turn the lights back to auto and poof my DIC was back where it belonged.
bajadave 04-11-2004, 02:47 PM Odometer
sammy 04-11-2004, 09:07 PM I have been leaving mine on Avg MPG. Heck, if I had this on my gasser, it probably would have gotten better mileage as well!! I tend to drive easier when I see how much the avg mpg drops when my foot is in it! But it sure raps out nice for a stock diesel when getting on the freeway!
ROBZUK 04-11-2004, 09:30 PM He payed for it, so he can play with it all he wants.
LIfe is GOOD
Dave
If you play with it too much, you'll either break it, or go blind !!http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
ROB
sycloneGuy 04-11-2004, 11:10 PM Rob,
Just a little nearsighted so far, but thanks for the warning. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Dave
Wickedfn4u 04-12-2004, 12:15 AM wow my first post that went to a second page, and all because of my DIC
BIGMoe 04-12-2004, 02:52 PM Most of the time it is on Instant MPG, at times I switch to Total Miles.
